Johnny Quaid began The Ravenna Colt in 2008 as a vehicle for his songwriting. As a founding member of My Morning Jacket, Quaid lent his talents as a guitar player and engineer to the band for six years, three albums and an array of EP's and singles. After parting amicably with the band in early 2004, he moved to California and worked as a carpenter while writing songs.
